London Boroughs Launch Nighttime Delivery Network to Ease Congestion and Lower Emissions

London, United kingdom, November 6, 2025 — London’s boroughs have unveiled the city’s first coordinated nighttime delivery network, set to begin operations on 10 November 2025. The initiative, developed in partnership with Transport for London and leading logistics firms, aims to significantly reduce daytime traffic congestion and cut urban emissions.

Deliveries will now be scheduled between 10pm and 7am, taking advantage of quieter streets and free congestion zone hours. Electric vehicles and cargo bikes will be prioritised, supporting London’s ambitious zero-emission targets. Palletline London, a key operator, has confirmed its fleet is ready for expanded overnight service, including secure double-manned deliveries for high-value goods.

“Nighttime logistics allow us to deliver faster and more sustainably,” said Ucal McLeod, Operations Manager at Palletline London. Community leaders praised the scheme’s potential to improve air quality and streamline supply chains. The network is expected to cover all 32 boroughs by spring 2026, marking a major step towards a greener, more efficient London.
