GHL has availability as early as this August and September to perform Standard PDI-G101 tests.
TORONTO, ON, August 14, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ — Good Harbour Laboratories (GHL) received official accreditation from the Plumbing and Drainage Institute (PDI this past July, to perform Standard PDI-G101 tests for hydro mechanical grease interceptors and to submit the results to PDI for certification. It took several years to earn this accreditation and now GHL is one of only a handful of laboratories in the world – and the only lab in Canada – that is certified to perform Standard PDI-G101 tests.
GHL has the ability to start grease interceptor testing very quickly – as soon as the paperwork is complete. And in fact, GHL is able to book clients in for testing as early as this August and September.
Grease Interceptor Testing
GHL has a PDI/ASME/CSA compliant test platform for testing grease interceptor performance and has been running these tests for over 10 years. This facility houses both a small and large sink so it can be used for testing interceptors rated from 4-100 gpm (0.24 to 6 L/s). Testing can be done with lard, in accordance with PDI-G101, ASME A112.14.13 and CSA B481.1 or with oil, in accordance with CSA B481.2, and has the capability to test to EN standards. GHL has also started testing units plumbed in series to meet the new requirements in Miami-Dade county. Clients rely on GHL’s facilities and expertise for a full range of testing, from initial development testing all the way through to certification testing. GHL also conducts non-protocol tests for clients who want test results that can help guide product and marketing material development.
For the past 12 years Environmental Technology Testing company, Good Harbour Laboratories (GHL) has been helping American and Canadian manufacturers fine-tune and test their equipment for compliance/accreditation. GHL provides unbiased, independent test results to equipment manufacturers, end users and regulators. Their 10,000 sq. ft full-service research and testing lab operates independent of any manufacturer and can be configured to accommodate almost any kind of equipment. It can provide flow rates from 1 gpm (0.1 L/s) up to 1,200 gpm (80 L/s), which is sufficient for testing many full-scale industrial/commercial water treatment systems. The GHL facility also includes an on-site analytical lab that can rapidly analyze for several common water contaminants, and an on-site workshop and machine shop for making or modifying prototypes. Good Harbour Labs operates a Quality Management System (QMS) and has been ISO 9001 accredited since 2015 and all GHL staff are trained scientists or engineers with decades of experience in research, development and testing.
